Rich-yet-relaxed look - The Cords Version 2.0

Corduroy pants have always been an item we associated with British countrywear and quirky, bookish men (Wes Anderson, professors, dad!)‚ but suddenly we're seeing it in a whole new light. As exemplified so beautifully by the F/W 11 Theyskens' Theory show, cords can be quite chic, which is why I think they're the perfect piece to add to your Fall 11 wardrobe.

Part of the reason cords are in right now is because the material has really been elevated, in both look and feel:  modern silhouettes (everything from slouchy skinnies to flared styles), of-the-moment colors (rich jewel tones and top-notch neutrals), and incredibly soft, extremely thin fabric.

 If you're in need of styling suggestions, definitely take a look at the way Olivier Theyskens presented cords at his Theory show. The designer created flared cords-the Pepper Pants ($295), shown in both Greeny and Bronzy-which were styled with silky, patterned blouses and ulta-long coats.

They come in a wide range of styles, hues and price points sure to pleas a large crowd. So go ahead and buy one now for a rick-yet-relaxed look.

Red Denim

Lately I have a thing for red denim...

Looking back, I remember doning a pair from Levis when I was probably 13-14 if not 12... I now wish I had kept them; they would have made a cool vintage piece :)

Let's fast forward to 2011; tried on a couple different pairs but the verdict is in: J BRAND as always - no surprises here...

I finally was able to spot them and placed my order last night!

That 70s Denim !!!

It's time to take your jeggings out of heavy rotation and give the skinny jeans in your closet a much needed rest ladies!!!!

For spring, instead of going for those familiar favorites, we need to find the perfect pair of '70s-inspired jeans.  Whether it's a full-on flare or a wide-leg style is totally up to you, just make sure you look for two things: a mid/high-waisted silhouette and a clean, monochromatic wash.

Here are some of the season's must-have styles for your shopping pleasure. Pair them with uber high wedge sandals or YSL Tributes and show them what you have got ladies!!!

My favorites are by J Brand. I am a loyal J Brand fan as at 5' 9'' no other jeans fit like they do.

BUT I caved in and ordered a pair by GAP yesterday (the 30%off coupon lured me in to be honest ) and I am sooo curious about how they will fit!!!

Update 2/24/11: So the GAP denim arrived and OMG they are way too big, as in I could have fit 2 small kids in each leg :)  so I had to return them. Looking forward to trying on the J Brand version!
